
I was photographing a sunset volleyball game when I saw Cherry walk across the beach and sit on the sand in front of an ironwood tree. She had just come out of the water and was wearing a beautiful, delicate pair of sunrise shell earrings. I was attracted by the contrast between the rough shadowy bark of the ironwood and Cherry’s light, gentle beauty.
