Collection: Bhutan Color

While visiting the Kingdom of Bhutan multiple times over the past 30+ years, I formed a number of extremely precious friendships These gave rise to discussions about a project to document the spiritual masters of this Buddhist nation. The Bhutan Masters project was established in 2022 with the goal of creating an archive of the country's most accomplished spiritual masters, and is currently in its initial phase. The photographs in this collection were taken on my first exploratory trips, accompanied by monks of the Zhung Dratshang (central monastic body), to gather information about some of these masters and the environments in which they practice.

Images printed on Hahnemuhle heavyweight (315 gsm) 100% archival cotton "Photo Rag Baryta," with archival inks and archival spray coating. When stored, handled, and displayed under archival conditions, the prints will last over 200 years before any deterioration begins
